Hi.  A few people have been sending me some really encouraging e-mails lately and I just wanted to say thank you :)  These are a couple of paintings I for a series called "whatever Neesha wants to paint because she is sick of trying to come up with a meaningful theme."  I'll post more later.

Meaningful, I guess, is up to the artist? And, perhaps I'm getting to analytical, but does art always have to be meaningful. Love your paintings, Neesha, and it's good to see you post again. I guess I missed your last one, so Congrats on winning the Andrew Bird contest:)

I guess art doesn't always have to be meaningful but I think it does have to have a point. Cause if there's no point then why bother?

I was just trying to create something for the masses (meaning sell some art online/ in a coffee shop), and I feel like people are more willing to buy your stuff if you tell them that it "means" this or that. But maybe not. We will see :)

I think they're also more likely to buy art if you put in cute animals like you did. Cool stork yo

Hmmm, I guess the only issue with art being meaningful is that it is subjective. I applaud you for wanting to express yourself in a meaningful way, and not just to mass produce your artwork.

But, there is artwork (paintings/photographs, etc.) that are beautiful from a purely aesthetic point of view that makes me happy just to look at. However, the artist could have had a meaning behind their art that I can't figure out. I guess I'm being argumentative:) Forgive me!

I think you need to call Demitri Martin and tell him you guys have a future together. He'd probably take you up on it.

I like your second drawing much!

Neesha, I stopped by to thank you for providing the "Repair" illustration for today's (March 26) Every Photo Tells A Story". I offered a proper little poem, I think. And so glad I did stop by, because your artwork is simply delightful..enchanting. I wish you had a follower gadget on this blog, for I would certainly "hop on"...it makes it so easy to go to your favorites from dashboard. But I will be back. Great work..Come by and visit..coffee's on.
